Università degli Studi di Urbino Carlo Bo. Dip. di Scienze Pure e Applicate (DiSPeA)

Dal 2001 è ricercatore in Storia della Fisica (S.S.D.  FIS/08) presso l’Università di Urbino Carlo Bo. Per questa Università  insegna dal 2004 Storia della Strumentazione Scientifica presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Pure ed Applicate (DiSPeA) e dal 2013 anche Elementi di Fisica e Didattica della Fisica presso il Dipartimento di Studi Umanistici (DISTUM). A partire dal 1987 è stato co-fondatore (con F. Vetrano) e poi Curatore scientifico (1994) del Gabinetto di Fisica: Museo urbinate della Scienza e della Tecnica, la più antica istituzione scientifica dell'Università di Urbino (fondata nel 1800) che attualmente raccoglie una importante Collezione di Strumenti Storico-Scientifici databili tra la seconda metà del XVIII secolo e i primi anni del XX secolo. E’ stato membro del Direttivo della Società Italiana degli Storici della Fisica e dell’Astronomia (SISFA) dal 2006 al 2012 ed è  Segretario Nazionale della medesima Società dal 2015 al 2021.

Since 2001 he is assistant professor in History of Physics (S.S.D. FIS/08) at the University of Urbino Carlo Bo. For this University, since 2004, he teaches History of Scientific Instruments at the Department of Pure and Applied Sciences (DiSPeA) and, since 2013, also Elements of Physics and Didactics of Physics at the Department of Humanistic Studies (DISTUM). Since 1987 he was co-founder (with F. Vetrano) and then Scientific Curator (1994) of the Physics Laboratory: Urbino Museum of Science and Technology, the oldest scientific institution of the University of Urbino (founded in 1800) which currently houses an important Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments dating from the second half of the 18th century to the early 20th century. He was a member of the Board of the Italian Society of Historians of Physics and Astronomy (SISFA) from 2006 to 2012 and National Secretary of the same Society from 2015 to 2021.

Le Sue ricerche si focalizzano principalmente nel segmento della Storia della Strumentazione Scientifica e, più in generale, nel settore della Storia della Fisica per i secoli del  Settecento e dell’Ottocento.

His research is mainly focused on History of Scientific Instruments and, more generally, on the History of Physics for the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries.
